Leighsa Smyser AIFD

About Us

Leighsa Smyser is a native San Franciscan who began working with floral
design as a hobby. This soon evolved into a passion for all things flowers
and floral. At the encouragement of accomplished mentors, she undertook
three years of formal floral education. Her unique talent is influenced by a
wide range of aesthetics including Japanese Ikebana, European and Modern
Western design. Impressed with the work of a European floral master she
apprenticed in Germany and furthered her education and knowledge of her
craft.

Upon returning to San Francisco after her apprenticeship Leighsa started
Branch Out Floral and Event Design, realizing her personal vision of Event
Floral Design. She received numerous accolades from the prestigious American
Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in her first national competition and
was inducted in 1996.

Leighsa has provided exquisite floral designs to a myriad of Bay Area
locations ranging from classic churches and private estates to historic
mansions and wineries to San Francisco City Hall. She listens to her clients
and works diligently to help them realize their vision to enhance their
special event. She expertly balances all of the various elements involved to
create visual harmony. Leighsa prides herself in blending the personal
tastes of her clients with the ambience of the event architecture resulting
in a stunning pallet of shape and color.
